The 2010 Equestrian Life Working Hunter & Showing Championship Qualifiers (Sunday)

 

Royal London Show 2010

 

This Show is a Qualifier for the Royal London Show to be held in September 2010 at Peterborough, Due to the closeness of this show and the championships, you need to make sure if you qualify you call the Royal London Show on (01425) 471680 and make all entry enquiries as soon as possible.

 

NCPA Pony Of The Year Show

**This show is a qualifier for the NCPA Pony of the Year Show and the Part Bred Welsh Ridden Championships to be held in conjunction with the Pony of the Year Show 2011 Dates To Be Confirmed. First & Second prize Winners in appropriate classes with qualify and highest not qualified in the first six for Part Bred Welsh in appropriate classes**

Certain Classes will have special qualifiers from CHAPS (UK) – Coloured Horse & Pony Society (UK) – Highest Placed Coloured within these classes will qualify for the CHAPS (UK) Championship Show

Age Rules

 

All Classes the following ages will apply –

 

Any Animal being shown in Lead Rein Classes or On a lead rein Must Not exceed 12.2hh and rider Not Exceeding 9 years old as of the 1st Jan 2010, Exception to this ruling is VHS Classes in which case Rider must not exceed 7 years and pony 12hh. Tiny Tots Classes are aged 6 years & under. Lead rein competitors not allowed in any class unless stated Lead rein can go in that class for safety. Snaffle Bridle. Lead to NOSEBAND ONLY !!

 

First Time First Ridden – May only compete in FTFR classes and Lead Rein and MUST NOT compete in First ridden classes today, NEVER to have won a 1st place rosette in any class off the lead rein before 1st January 2010 EXCEPT novelty classes such as most appealing pony. PLEASE respect the aim of these classes as they are aimed at genuine novice children coming off the lead rein, you may accompany the rider and pony in the ring but will be heavily penalised for leading or excessive interference, you are there to guide and encourage the child. Ponies must not exceed 13.2hh and riders not to exceed 10 years old. Any Suitable Bridle.

 

First Ridden Classes – Open to all children within the age & height category will not be expected to canter as a group but will be expected to show a short canter to the best of their ability in their individual performances. Ponies not to exceed 13.2hh Riders must not have attained their 12th birthday before 1st January 2009. Any Suitable Bridle

 

All Other Ages as Stated for that class, where a discrepancy or complaint is lodged with regards age a valid form of ID may be asked for as proof such as a birth certificate or passport.

Please Note for the sake of Ring Identification we will refer to the rings as they are known at the riding club but also they will be allocated a number to avoid confusion, On Sunday several jumping rings will be emptied to create showing rings.

Dog Classes £2.50 Per Class or 5 for £10.00 (Same Combination) + £2.00 First Aid – Please note you MUST clean up after your dog and have it on a lead at all times or you will be asked to leave and no refund given, dogs must be under control at all times, horses will be present, any dog showing any kind of aggression to person, other dog or horses will be asked to leave – This is our first year of having dogs, please don’t let it be our last one J

 

No Water is available on the showground please ensure you bring your own for all animals please – Especially is weather is hot. We do not provide communal drinking containers due to risk of infection and disease.

 Rosettes / Trophies - Rosettes to 4th Place in Each Class, Special Rosettes awarded to all children and in novelty classes. Trophy for 1st Place will be awarded in each class where sponsored, occasionally we are donated recycled trophies to use on classes that are not sponsored. WPCS Medal In Hand Classes are not awarded trophies, CHAPS & Equestrian Life &  VHS Classes, These societies may award their own awards, there are a number of perpetual (keep for a year) Sheilds & trophies, these must be signed for and returned by June before each show. Sashes and/or Large Rosettes to Champions & Reserve– these are then eligible to compete for Supreme of show at the end of the day on Sunday.

Rideability  – Is judged solely on the riders capability to handle their mount and riding technique, may be asked to incorporate set movements into an individual performance, such as a 3 looped serpentine in trot, a halt mid show, and for the older age groups a possible rein back, flying change mount and dismount – At the Judges discretion. – These Classes will be run as per Handy Pony classes where by competitors go in Individually for Judging between 10am and 1.30pm, Placings will be called at 1.45pm with 1st & 2nd placings coming back into the ring for the championship. A Board Displaying the Movements required for each age group will be displayed outside the ring.

 These classes will be run as a proper working hunter class, you will be expected to wear correct attire and be clean and presentable but you do not need to be plaited up for today’s classes. No Bandages, Boots must be removed before phase 2 showing, No Change of Tack Between phases.

These Classes are run under their individual rules and do not necessarily incur faults the same way as “normal” Show Jumping    Classes, Where no Horse/ Pony Heights are Stated this means the class is open to horses and ponies and riders of any age.

 

A Pony Grand Prix – Not Exceeding 14.2hh – Jumps 3 Foot – 1 Round of Jumping followed by a timed jump

off – Faults occur as 4 Knock Down/ 4 Refusal/ 3rd Refusal Elimination

B  Horse Grand Prix – Exceeding 14.2hh – Jumps 3 Foot 6 -  1 Round of Jumping followed by a timed jump

C Open Speed Derby – 1 Round of Jumping Against the clock – Fastest least Faults will win. Jumps 3 Foot 3

D. Five Bar – Line of 5 jumps Starting at 2 Foot 6 – Rising 3” higher each round, Knock down or refusal = elimination or placing depending on how many persons are left jumping

E The Accumulator – Take Your Own Line, Fences will have points cards per fence, Clock as many points as you can in 60 seconds – Course will be 3 foot 3 with a Joker fence at Double Points standing 3 foot 9, Jump fences as many times as you like, no faults but no points will count if a fence is knocked down and it cannot be jumped again.

 

If Time Allows Classes F,G, H & I will run, to be paid for upon entry £2.00 per class Must have paid First Aid

 

F Pony Puissance – 1 Jump – Higher & Higher – Fence Starts at 2  foot 9 – Judges Discretion will be used and in the event of the fence rising higher than is safe, prize will be split 14.2 & Under.

 

G Horse Puissance - 1 Jump – Higher & Higher – Fence Starts at 3 foot  – Judges Discretion will be used and in the event of the fence rising higher than is safe, prize will be split 14.2 & Over.

 

Special prize will be awarded if the Pony Winner jumps Higher than the Horse Class winner.

Designed for the Tiny Tots and Genuine Novice and nervous people, if you are deemed to be to competent to compete you will be asked to move to the Novice & Intermediate classes. Safety is paramount in these classes, Lead rein parents will be penalised if they are careless and go to fast, 1 round followed by a jump off for lowest faulting rounds,
